During this epidemic, it's important for us to do our part of flattening the curve simply by staying home! But being in the house bored is not an option! Here's a list of 10 things you can do to feel productive and entertained!
1. Phone Calls
Even with strict social distancing rules set into place, it's super important to stay connected with friends and family even if it's via FaceTime or Skype! If you're reading this, it's most likely through your desktop or mobile screen. With this device you can reach out to your childhood friend, favorite cousin or long lost love!
This may sound random but showers are scientifically proven to brighten up our mood! Something about the warmth of the water on our bodies helps us heal and feel better. It's called Hydrotherapy. So take a shower or a bath to feel refreshed and invigorated!
3. Write, Draw, Paint!
Since we are inside our homes and we can not be out and about to explore the world, it's important to keep our creative juices flowing by creatively expressing ourselves in any and every way we can! Painting is a fun way to pass the time and worth the mess! Drawing is great and the ideas are endless, especially now with access to tutorials online. Writing is a neat way to connect with yourself and your inner thoughts. Try writing a love letter to parents, friends, or even to yourself! Everyone loves a nice thought-out hand written letter. This is a great time to reflect and write what your perfect day would be like or what your perfect home would look like or a list of all the blessings in your life. The possibilities are endless and it's a physical memory that will last forever.
4. Deep Clean
Cleaning is a therapeutic way to relieve stress. So if you're feeling bored or uneasy, reorganizing your closet, drawers or bookshelves may help clear your mind! So try going through old clothes that may not fit, color-coordinate your wardrobe, and rearrange your room! Not only will you be left with a spotless environment, you'll be left with a sense of relief and productivity (and you'll be killing two birds with one stone!)
5. Listen To Music, Sing and Dance!
It's important to stay active throughout our life, so why not move your body to your favorite song! Whether you simply stretch to your fav slow song or jump around to your fav party song, listening to music and singing is proven to get the happy hormones up and running in our brain.
Although we're not going anywhere, it's nice to sometimes dress and enhance our features with makeup, a nice hairstyle or simply just with our clothes. Snap some selfies or FaceTime your crush! At least now we can take our time to get ready!
7. Be One With Nature
As human beings, we naturally gravitate to nature and feel the urge to be out which is why this epidemic has been very tough on society overall. If you live in a city, it may be difficult to get into nature but we can do so simply by opening our blinds to let sunlight in or going into our backyard/roof and laying in the sun. Depending on where you reside during this quarantine time, use your resources and any advantages you may have provided to you to get out into nature.
8. Pamper Yourself
Taking the time to treat ourselves is very important. Now that the salons are closed, we can take this time as an opportunity to learn how to keep up with ourselves. Whether it's learning how to thread your own eyebrows or making organic sugar scrubs/masks with everyday natural ingredients, take this time to nourish your skin and pamper your body! REMEMBER: our menstrual boxes and hygiene kits all carry organic goodies to leave you feeling fresh and clean plus our caffeine-free tea helps relax muscles! It's a nice way to treat yourself.
9. Learn Something New
If you're taking online classes or working from home full-time, you may not want to over work your brain, but never forget that knowledge is power! Haven't you ever wondered how things are made or where the products you use come from? We at Cherry Blossom Subscription are very transparent with our product ingredients, but not many companies are! Now's the perfect time to learn about a fascinating topic you've always wondered about. Whether it's learning a new language, a book on new recipes, or listening to an interview on your favorite artist, take this time to learn something new about the topics you like, everyday!
10. Just Be!
If you live with your family, there is no better time to really get to know them like now! You can spend your quarantine time being present to the moment and embracing your loved ones! There are billions of people in this world and everyones situation is different, but times when we are present in the moment, we are open and receptive to "the-now". This allows us to perceive things differently and appreciate our surroundings. If your partner, siblings or parents are bored too, suggest playing some games like 21 Questions, Uno, or Loteria . You'll really get to know your family and connect in a deeper way.
